Support is Needed to Maximize Impact to Our Community

Food insecurity in our community continues to grow and the Center 4 Hope strives to be a beacon of light and hope for individuals and families and provide services to help provide paths

forward for sustainable futures. In Monroe county more than 30% of people are living below the poverty level. In our community of Greece, NY, approximately 20% are living below the poverty line and need food, medical treatment, financial and career counseling.

The Center 4 Hope was created to unleash compassion on the residents in the town of Greece by being established as a non- profit. The center’s origins started as a food pantry at Hope Church. The congregation funded and built the center. The center relies financially on the generosity of volunteers who staff almost every position of operations and through individual donors, community grants and business partners to provide financial support.

community stats

There is some seasonality to food insecurity in all communities. During the summer months, the families are hit hardest because children who rely on complimentary or reduced school lunches, don’t have access to the program when school is not in session. In the winter months, the elderly are shut-in and unable to get out to access food. A monthly pledge or a multi-year commitment ensures we can purchase food all year long.

"The volunteers at the Center 4 Hope were a blessing to me and my family when I wasn’t sure where to go for food after I lost my job."
